How often I have thought about time. Wished I had more, wanted it to go by slower, set my clock ahead to give me the allusion I was ahead of it. No matter what I do, though, it goes on. As my children grow up and on and I grow older, I've begun to give some thought to what I DO with the time God has given me.
"We make time for the things that are important to us. Period." It's a quote I read in a magazine last week that has really stuck with me. When I sit down and really think about what I do with my time-both physical and time spent in thought-it is really apparent what is most important in my life. Not everything that takes up a lot of my time SHOULD. And some things that don't occupy a place high on my priority list should be moved up.
I'm challenged to spend some time rearranging my priorities. Giving more of my time to things that have eternal significance and less of my time to things that add no value to my life in the long run. I want to seek to glorify God continually in my thoughts and actions and consult Him first as I choose how to spend the precious time He has given me.
