And Spring brought with it pollen and rainstorms and azaleas and blossoms and chirping birds and happy squirrels and more pollen (enough to leave footprints in!) and even an early watermelon.
Joshua has been sick for most of this week with either a nasty stomach bug or perhaps a bit of sun poisoning? I'm not sure, but it was rough. Today was the first day since Monday that he could really go out for any length of time. Spring is so beautiful here. It was such a delight to walk around the neighborhood with him as he exclaimed over all the new greens and pinks everywhere. He said it was like spring was all the way in now. It reminded me of Colin and Mary in the Secret Garden. :)
I am thankful Blogger has finally created an app that will let me upload photos from the iPad, but unfortunately it doesn't let me insert them into the body of the post so they all have to come at the end. I'll put the descriptions here and then you'll have to scroll up and down to see the photos that go with them.
1,2, & 3-Nick's good friends Josh and Christian came down from Maryland to spend a few days with us. We had a lot of fun showing them around and took one day to explore Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. It was chilly at the ocean, but fun to be back!
4, 5, & 6-We had a lovely Easter and here are the handsome boys. We had a sunrise service at church, followed by breakfast then regular service. Back home was ham dinner with the boys and our friend, Abby, then the annual egg hunt!
7-one cute puppy, 5 months old.
8-13-Dave has been away a lot lately and when he's gone I usually come up with some big project. This time I had two. The first was repainting the downstairs bathroom, which Abby and I did one day and looks great. The second was a bit bigger. I bought a circular saw and a Kreg jig and taught myself how to use it, found some plans online and built a kitchen island! It was definitely a learning experience and a lot of fun. I LOVE the island in the kitchen-it's the perfect size and I have big dreams of not letting it get cluttered. ;)
14-The boys camped out in the yard one night and enjoyed some hot cocoa in the cool morning.
15-A sick boy with his constant companion.
