I have a lot of things floating around in my head right now. To-do lists, important memories to make, packing lists (SEVERAL), worries and concerns, exciting adventures to plan, second thoughts about a lot of things.....I'm going to work it all into a blog post at some point because I have been drawn so close to the Lord as I have leaned on Him to help me carry this load.
I am reading a book right now called Evidence Unseen, about a woman missionary whose husband was killed and who was held captive by the Japanese for four years during WWII. As the Japanese soldiers were nearing their camp, a ship had been sent to evacuate them to another island. Their head pastor met with the group and said this to them:
Go to your knees and say, 'Lord, what do You want me to do? Shall I go or shall I stay?' This is extremely vital, because then no matter what happens in the months or possibly years that lie ahead, you will know that you are exactly where God wants you to be. If He leads you to leave, you'll never feel that you were a coward and fled. If you are led to stay, no matter what happens you can look up and say, 'Lord, you intend for me to be right here.'
What an encouragement that has been to me since I read it. I know without a doubt that the Lord wants me to go to Germany, wants my husband to be there, and me to follow. To be perfectly honest, it is not the desire of my heart--if it were up to me, I would stay here where I am available for my children if they need me, where I can visit each of them without too much effort or expense, where I can see my grand baby as often as I want. But I am so comforted by the knowledge that we are in the middle of God's will--and
no matter what happens, THAT is always the best place to be.

And while we are here getting ready to go, we have been busy!
We have sweet friends visiting for the week--the Middles have been out and about enjoying each others' company. The little boys have had some marathon video game competitions and some fun of their own.

Working down the list of favorite summer meals and starting the great pantry clean-out of 2014
We drove over an hour one day to go pick peaches. It started raining just as we got there, so we did the next best thing: bought already picked peaches and had some homemade ice cream! It was totally worth it.

| I made peach sorbet when we got home. SOOO yummy. And healthy. Recipe? Combine 4 peaches, 3 T of maple syrup or honey, and 3 T of water in a blender or food processor. Once mixed, add to ice cream maker and in 20 minutes, voila! I think I'll go have some now, as a matter of fact.... |

We joined in with some neighbors for a yard sale on (another) rainy day. Made some money, got rid of some unneeded stuff and extra weight, and had a good time.
