For the somethingedy-somethingth year, we made heart-shaped pizzas. Joshua has become quite the pizza chef and the addition of a pizza seasoning mix we brought back from Germany made this year's showstopper even more delicious.
Our little Valentine party group is shrinking but I treasure the time left with the boy. It is even more precious to me as the others have gone on to their own homes and families and traditions....
Also this weekend we drove over to Fort Washington, on the other side of the Potomac. It was a gorgeous and COLD day. We explored around the fort a bit, checked out the visitors' center, and were treated to the very patriotic site of two bald eagles flying overhead. It was majestic.

And this morning we woke up to a few inches of snow on the ground, with several more forecasted to fall today, followed by ice. It's supposed to warm up and rain tomorrow but unfortunately, not before ruining our plans for this Presidents' Day.
We had tickets to go to George Washington's church for a special breakfast and a service following the usual schedule they followed during the time the 1st president attended there, including using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. We were all really looking forward to it, and as much as we love a snow day, today's was quite the bummer.
But we will look forward to going next year--surely we can't be snowed out twice!
