That's actually the title of one of my favorite songs. And we all could have sung that song (....leaves me wishing, still, for one more day with you...) as we wound down our awesome trip.
We started our last full day in Scotland with a lovely made-to-order breakfast.

I will start by saying there was SO MUCH we didn't get to see in our one full day in Edinburgh, due to one reason or another (time, distance, weather, closed for renovations, etc). Missing things like the Eric Liddel museum and the David Livingstone museum were disappointing, but the crazy amount of great stuff we crammed into that day certainly outshone what we didn't see. And now we have a reason to go back soon! :)
We stayed in West End, which ended up being a great location. I didn't want to be in the middle of the city because of the night life and noise, but West End was close enough to get right to the heart of things in a short walk. And the walk there was so pretty.

We visited Edinburgh Castle (http://www.edinburghcastle.gov.uk), which sits majestically above the city. Today was a windy, cold and sometimes rainy day, but the castle was still so fun to explore. And it made the inside parts even better. :)

We stopped and had proper tea and cake while we were there. Yummy....

| We spent some time exploring the prison. It was incredible seeing their living conditions. And also the things that prisoners created during their time there! |

| We also ate a meal while at the castle. I had a yummy haggis pot pie type of thing. |
And then we headed down the Royal Mile to see what else we could of the city!

As darkness fell, it was time to check out Edinburgh's version of a German Christmas Market. Some members of our party weren't too thrilled to be doing Germany things in Great Britain but their mood soon changed....

And our trip was over. The boy and I snuck over to take a picture in front of this interesting and very imposing looking building near our Bed & Breakfast. We found out later that it had been a school for the deaf and was now in the process of being turned into luxury condos....
And despite our smiles, we did NOT want to leave. We've all promised each other we'll go back soon.

Once again, I am so thankful for these two guys who fill my days with fun and smiles and jokes and adventure. I am grateful for the opportunities we've had to explore our country and the world and so thankful to have gotten to do this much with them.
And we all agree....Scotland was BRILLIANT.
